WHAT THE NIGHT IS ALL ABOUT
SWIM ON Foundation is a drowning prevention & swim safety organization created in memory of Nicholas who drowned at age 2, the son of founders Lisa & Kimball McMullin.
The goal is simply to change the horrible statistic that drowning is the leading #1 cause of accidental deaths in children, while also the most preventable. SWIM ON promotes swim safety in a myriad of ways listed below.
This is the 3rd Biennial Trivia Night and makes up nearly 1/3 of the year's annual revenue! Tables sold out in 2022 & 2024 and we hope to have a wonderful crowd once again!
The Trivia Night benefits Swim On & its initiatives!
Each initiative links a personal story to our five layers of S•A•F•E•R protection against drowning.
Donations can be designated for a specific initiative if the donor chooses!
The Annie CPR Initiative
was the first named initiative after Caley & Jack Lawlor's 2 year old daughter suffered a non-fatal drowning. CPR was administered quickly and almost certainly saved her life. As part of the Annie Initiative, we have created free CPR wallet cards and distributed over 10,000 and also provide free CPR classes to anyone at the time and location that works for them.
Additional Initiatives include:
The Dalton Open Water Initiative,
fitting and giving away life vests, providing information on the dangers of open water, and airing radio ads encouraging the use of life vests.
The Kyriii & Tyler Swim Scholarships Initiative,
providing swim scholarships to those in need, particularly children of color,
The August Fences & Safety Initiative,
emphasizing the importance of proper barriers and other safety measures,
The Nicholas Adult Supervision Initiative
promoting the importance of designating a committed water watcher, something that could have saved Nicholas' life that day;
In addition, SWIM ON Foundation airs radio ads to raise awareness. We distribute materials & partner with hospitals and organizations like Missouri Emergency Medical Services for Children and National Drowning Prevention Alliance.
SWIM ON Foundation is the only organization of its kind in the larger St. Louis metro area.
