Clear Water Ripples

  The Nicholas Initiative

Nicholas' Story

On a beautiful day at the end of Summer, Kimball and Lisa were at a family farm with their four kids and a handful of families.

The kids played while the parents enjoyed the wonderful weather.

No one saw their two year old, Nicholas, go in. A twelve year old swimming alone in the pool saw something at the bottom. What he brought up was their young child, Nicholas.

He never regained consciousness.

The Nicholas Initiative includes the importance of active adult supervision

Multiple adults were on the pool deck...

Nicholas' mom, Lisa, (co-founder of SWIM ON) included, and Nicholas was supposed to be inside resting.

Having active adult supervision, a designated water watcher, and hiring a lifeguard are essential measures that can significantly enhance safety when enjoying time near a body of water or at a pool party.
